Geometric Art & Design
Pattern, the use of graphic repetition, is a design element that soothes human sensibilities. The mind will expect to see and recognize repeating images. Online collective project pattern-matters explores ways to experience pattern from creation and design to its use in various platforms.
Patterns exist everywhere around us and recognizing them helps us to measure our world. Usually, by geometry which literally means “earth” and “to measure”. Artistic representation of shapes and patterns is fundamental to design. New York street artist Aakash Nihalani certainly understands the use of shape and pattern in his geometric tape designs he installs in the city.
Nihalani’s intuitive use of geometry engages the public to see shapes in everyday life that are often otherwise overlooked. Check out this video about Nihalani and his work.

Sacred Geometry are the shapes and mathematical principles which have a religious or spiritual meaning. They occur in nature and have allowed humanity to measure our physical selves in relation to our natural surrounding in relation to the metaphysical sphere.
