About InfoGlyphs
Who writes InfoGlyphs, how the guides and gallery examples are made, where the data comes from, and the site's independence from earlier owners of the domain.
InfoGlyphs is an independent guide to designing infographics. We write practical guides on planning, chart choice, color and type, sizes, accessibility and sources, and we build original example pieces to show the advice in practice.
Who we are
The site is written by the InfoGlyphs Team, a small group of people who make charts and editorial graphics as part of their work. We are not a design agency, we don't take client commissions through this site, and we don't publish sponsored posts or affiliate links.
How the gallery is made
Every infographic in the gallery was drawn for this site. Each one starts from a small public dataset, such as a Bureau of Labor Statistics table, a CDC report or a Pew Research Center fact sheet. The source is printed on the graphic and linked on the page, and the numbers are published as an HTML table so you can check them.
The pieces are built as SVG directly from the data, so the chart, the alt text and the table all come from the same numbers. If a source revises a figure, we update the data and rebuild.
How we write the guides
The guides cover what we wish someone had told us when we started: plan the message before the layout, match the chart to the comparison, use less color, and cite everything. Where a guide refers to a standard (WCAG for contrast, ISO 216 for paper sizes), we link to it. Where something changes often, such as the image sizes social platforms prefer, we say so and tell you where to check.
If you find an error, please tell us. We correct mistakes and note the date on the page.
Reusing our work
You are welcome to link to any page and to adapt the ideas in your own work. If you republish numbers from a gallery piece, cite the original data source named under it, since that is where the data comes from.
History of the domain
InfoGlyphs.com was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. The current site has no connection to earlier owners of the domain, and nothing published here before 2026 is part of this site. Some old addresses now redirect to the closest current page.
